Summer school is offered for incoming students in grades K-12.

Doors will open for students at each location at 7:25 a.m.

Classes start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.

Summer school enrollment is all digital this year. If you need assitance completing the enrollment forms, please stop by the office your student will be attending. 

If you child(ren) have not attended Neosho School District before and plan to enroll in August 2026, please submit this summer school enrollment form and complete the
New Student Enrollment for the 2026-2027 academic year. Students currenly enrolled at NSD, should NOT complete the New Student Enrollment, as they are already enrolled at NSD.

Courses:
Courses listed must have a minimum of 20 students enrolled to be offered. If a class does not meet the minimum enrollment requirement, students currently enrolled in the course will be notified. When courses are full, they will be removed from the enrollment form and closed. 

 

Discipline:
Students are expected to follow normal school year expectations. Use of the device in classes is a violation of class rules.  Summer School is 4 weeks and has a zero-tolerance discipline policy.  Students are to stay on campus from the time they arrive through the end of class in the afternoon. Students will be removed from summer school if they do not adhere to expectations at NHS.

 

Attendance:
PowerSchool attendance will be taken daily at the beginning of each session.  Students will be dropped from a class on the day of their 5th Absence.

  • This course is designed to review and expand upon topics covered in English I. REMEDIATION ONLY. ½ English Credit, Grade 9-12

  • This course is designed to review and expand upon topics covered in English 3. REMEDIATION ONLY. ½ English Credit, Grade 9-12

  • This course will extend research and writing skills to analyze world literature as a means of placing these works in historical and cultural contexts. Students will analyze different genres of literature to create connections through both whole and small-group learning. Emphasis will be placed on narrative, expository, and argumentative writing. This course will work toward improving reading and writing skills for all seniors and provide students with the opportunity to read books on recommended college reading lists. Completion, with a passing grade, of this course will satisfy the second semester of English IV and allow students to be eligible to graduate in December. ½ English Credit, 12th grade only - DECEMBER GRADS ONLY

  • Real-World Problem Solving - This course focuses on developing Algebra 1 skills through the study of equations, graphs, and functions. Students will solve real-world problems involving linear relationships, patterns, and data while building a strong understanding of algebraic concepts. Emphasis is placed on consistent practice, problem-solving strategies, and preparing students for future math courses.  ½  Math Credit Grade 9-12.

  • This course is designed to review and expand upon topics covered in Physical Science. ½ Science Credit, Grade 9-12.

  • This course is designed to review and expand upon topics covered in Biology I. Grade 10-12.

  • This course is designed to review and expand upon topics covered in History of America I. ½ Social Studies Credit, Grade 9-12.

  • This course is designed to review and expand upon topics covered in Government. REMEDIATION ONLY, ½ Social Studies Credit, Grade 11-12.

  • Credit recovery is designed for students who have not passed a semester of a required course. Contact your counselor to enroll in credit recovery. Grades 10-12.

  • This class is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of oral and written communication and give them practical experience in areas ranging from listening skills to public speaking to practical writing.  Students can take this class for remediation grades 9-11, and 8th graders may take it so they will not have to take it during the regular school year.  ½ Speech Credit Grades 9-12.

  • This course is based on the Missouri Personal Finance Competencies and presents essential knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about real-life financial issues. Students will learn how choices influence occupational options and future earning potential. Students will also learn to apply decision-making skills to evaluate career choices and set personal goals. The course content is designed to help the learner make wise spending, saving, and credit decisions and to make effective use of income to achieve personal financial success. ½ Personal Finance Credit Grades 11-12.

  • Students will learn the fundamentals of physical fitness along with lifetime activities. Students will participate in activities to enhance their fitness. Students will learn and participate in activities that they will be able to continue throughout their lifetime. ½ P.E. Credit Grades 9-12.

  • This summer, students will practice various job skills. They will learn jobs that apply to boutiques and cafes. Students will be challenged through lessons, such as baking, cooking, painting, creating, and working. Students will learn job skills, cooking, map skills, research strategies, chemistry, Neosho history, and how to structure their free time.  Students must have a current IEP.  ½ Elective Credit Grades 9-12.

  • This course is designed to provide students with knowledge, attitudes, and skills to make health-promoting decisions. ½ Health Credit. Grade 9-12

  • Students will learn about performing for theatre through acting games and warm-ups. They will work on a short one-act play throughout the week and have a chance to perform at the end of the summer semester. ½ Fine Art Credit, Grade 9-12

  • Students will learn all the backstage basics for theatre. They will start with learning about costumes and sets, and then have a chance to create set pieces and props for the Acting class. ½ Fine Art Credit, Grade 9-12.

*Parents will drop-off and pickup students at the La-Z-Boy Indoor Facility. If your student is also taking summer school classes, parents will need to drop-off students at the La-Z-Boy Indoor Facility and a shuttle bus will be provided to transport 7th and 8th grade students to Neosho Junior High for summer school.

 

Sport specific time will be communicated per sport/coach.

As campuses merge for summer school, please note that summer school route numbers can be different from the regular school year. Routes are condensed and bus stops may have changed. 

 

Summer school routes will be available mid-May.

 

Summer School enrollment is ongoing through the first week of school, therefore, this information will likely change. This means the pickup time could be earlier than posted, please have your students ready at least 10 minutes early. 

 

Afternoon Bus Delays Expected – Please be aware that during the first several days of school, afternoon bus routes may run behind. Our top priority is making sure each student gets on the correct bus and that process can take a little extra time. As routes have operated for a couple of days, the pickup/drop off times will become more consistent. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through the summer school routes.

 

Students riding the special services routes will not be listed, rather you will be contacted with the route information.

Food Service

Summer school meals are provided free of charge and consist of breakfast and lunch. All buildings are free feeding sites, meaning students do not have to be enrolled in summer school to eat.

If a student brings his/her lunch, and wants to purchase milk, the cost of a carton of milk is $0.50. If a parent/guardian wants to have lunch with their student, the cost of lunch is $4.60.
