COVID-19 Q&A

  • Will District FEMA shelters be open during inclement weather?

    Posted by:

There will be no changes in regard to operations at our FEMA Community Safe Rooms during the current Covid-19 school closure. FEMA has stated that an imminent hazardous weather event takes precedence over the quarantine. Neosho School District remains committed to assisting those in our community who have need for shelter during a severe weather event.  The shelters will open when the National Weather Service issues a Tornado Watch or Tornado Warning for our immediate area. In the event of shelter activation, please try to maintain at least 6 feet of personal space.

  • Will the closure affect graduation?

    Posted by:

As of now, the closure should not affect the commencement date. As far as what commencement looks like, we will have to wait and see the status of COVID-19 and take into account official instruction, should there be any at that time.

  • Will athletic practices for this week be cancelled?

    EDIT | March 16

All activities, events, and practices for this week are cancelled.

    ---

As of now, MSHSAA has not suspended or cancelled any spring sports. Our school district has made the decision to extend spring break for another week following the recommendations that large group events should be cancelled. At this time, practices for MSHSAA-related activities are still permitted as they are not considered to be a large group event. However, we understand that these are extenuating circumstances and want to assure parents that we will be flexible as they make decisions based on the wellbeing of their family.
