What are Pre-Entry Screenings?
Pre-Entry Screenings are standard practice for any child entering preschool or kindergarten at a public school. Screenings are conducted by our Parents as Teachers (PAT) Team. No preparation is needed for your little one for their screening and it is done at no cost. Our PAT Educators will simply be evaluating things like hearing, vision, and developmental milestones through play activities.
In addition to Preschool and Kindergarten screenings, PAT offers developmental screenings for any child aged birth through kindergarten entry. If you'd like to have your child screened, give them a call!
When are Pre-Entry Screenings?
Screenings will take place by appointment at the Parents as Teachers office during the months of January-April. The PAT office is located at 201 North Wood Street, Neosho, MO 64850.
What age should my child be for Pre-Entry Screenings?
For preschool, students should be age 4 before August 1st. For kindergarten, students should be age 5 before August 1st.
How do I prepare for my child's screening? Should I bring anything?
There is no preparation needed for your child's screening, but please bring the following items:
- Proof of residency
- Immunization Records
- Birth Certificate or Legal Proof of Name and Age
- Medicaid Card (if applicable)
- Custody Papers (if applicable)
- Social Security Card
Do current Kindercats or NSD preschool students need to receive a screening?
